Katsu takes patience. You hand-bread each piece, get the oil temperature right, and fry it until the panko crust is properly golden — not just lightly coloured. Then there's the curry sauce, which we make from scratch every day. It's the kind of thing you can't really rush.
We started Katsu Queen because we couldn't find this food done properly in Essex. So we made it ourselves. Everything is made in-house, the ingredients are good, and nothing gets cut when it's busy.
Come hungry. First time or fiftieth, the food is the same either way.
